FDA bans antibacterial soaps, though we may think antibacterial soaps are effective there has been no scientific proof in fact some research suggest that antibacterial soaps contain ingredients that may do more harm than good, one of them being Triclosan which is used in most antibacterial and antimicrobial products. It breaks open the cell walls of bacterial which kills them however it takes several hours to be affective. Washing hands with plain soap and water is obviously the most crucial and effective way to avoid spreading germs however if you use hand sanitizer the CDC (Center For Disease Control) recommends the hand sanitizer contain atleast 60% alcohol
