My first Youth To The People purchase was the Kale+Green Tea Vitamins cleanser, it’s a gentle cleanser and works pretty well for my sensitive/combination skin. I wish I could splurge and buy everything from the Youth To The People line!
I was in need of a new moisturizer and purchased the Adaptogen Deep Moisture Cream and I love it! It’s great for my sensitive skin (no post breakouts) and I find it to be hydrating without making me oily, it seeps into the skin perfectly. Because it’s light weight its great for a nighttime skincare routine because no one likes that heavy feeling after you’ve layered on all your night time products. I also want to mention this moisturizer will be a savior and must have for the winter season!
Btw YTTP is vegan and cruelty free and packs all their products in glass containers which can be repurposed or recycled I’m actually going to use the cleanser bottle as a hand soap dispenser once I’m done using it!
Pressed eyeshadow palette “It’s My Pleasure” by Colourpop
“Some people like binge watching TV, others like junk food. What’s your guilty pleasure? Ours is, can you guess? Launching new stuff! Say hello to our newest palette, Ooh La La’s purple sis! We asked YOU what you wanted to see next, and purple was on your mind. Rich jewel tones, insane metallic finishes, create all the monochromatic looks. She’s sure to be your newest guilty pleasure.”
Overall Rating 4.8/5
This palette is even prettier in person, trust me! The eyeshadows are all beautiful and fun because of the bright ,vivid colors making this is the palette I would reach for. The price is very affordable for the quality which is why Colourpop quickly gained popularity when the company started up in 2014.
Day in and day out I usually opt for neutral eyeshadows but lately I have been wanting to get creative with my eyeshadow and I found this palette which offers 9 pressed eyeshadows for $12! That’s a great deal! They blend well together and all the colors are opaque which I like.
The only downsides is the glitter fallout from the metallic eyeshadows, I noticed specks of glitter around my eyes and cheeks but it could be because I didn’t use a glitter-adhesive eye primer or it could just be the formula it self, I washed my face and noticed I still had glitter residue and some slight staining of eyeshadow left on my eyelids which was gone the second time I washed my face so that was a bit of a bummer but it didn’t put me off from keeping this $12 palette because I still enjoy the colors.
Has anyone else experienced staining from some of the pigments?
9 pressed eyeshadow palette “Ohh La La” by Colourpop
“You’re like really pretty…. So you agree, you think this pink 9-pan palette is really pretty! Includes a mix of matte, metallic, and satin shadows, this palette is your go-to for the trendiest pink looks right now.”
Colors from L to R:moon struck, caddy, trove,sandbar,opulent,big sugar,poodle,soft core,tickled
Overall Rating: 4.8/5
Ohh La La is the sister palette to “Its My Pleasure” this 9 pressed eyeshadow palette has a good selection of pink tones. This is a eyeshadow palette I would use when I want to play up my eyes with some color and I love the color “Sandbar” it’s a fun neon pink shade.
Now on to the things I didn’t like about the palette, Similarly to the It’s My Pleasure Palette I noticed when washing off my eye makeup (I don’t use any eye pads to remove my makeup) there was a slight stain from the eyeshadow which I was able to remove after re-washing my face and used a oil based makeup remover (read more below) I recommend using a primer on your lid to reduce staining but I still have the same issue of some fallout with these eyeshadows, but if you can get passed that (as I can) this is just another pretty affordable palette from Colourpop.
** I also want to throw out there that I read online and watched through a few YouTube videos and noticed that when trying to keep a product vegan/cruelty free certain dyes such as red30-40 is used to form the desired shade which can cause some staining because it’s a direct dye, while most non-vegan formulas use carmine which is crushed insects. Interesting huh?!

This was a one time purchase for me! I currently ran out of my mask of magniminty (a personal favorite) and decided to try Rosy Cheeks since my skin is dull, new skincare products caused minor irritation and I’m having occasional breakouts. It was a very mediocre facial mask, I certainly don’t love it. It smells like roses, or rose-water which I don’t mind but not everyone is a fan of the scent.
It dries down very quickly so it can be difficult to “massage” into the skin as suggested in the directions, it looks like calamine lotion once applied and dried.
Now onto my biggest disappointments, the amount of product you get for $12 is ridiculous, The batch I brought wasn’t even filled to the top and the 2.1 oz is tiny, like fits in your palm tiny which to me doesn’t justify the $12 price tag for $3 more you can get twice the size of product for the mask of magniminty and it lasts longer. Rosy Cheeks is one of the few facial masks made only available for in-store purchase which isn’t as much of a big deal for me because I live in the city and because I won’t bother buying it again but I can see the consumer frustration if you don’t live anywhere near a lush location.
So all in all I wasn’t super impressed with the product, I’m certain their are other better face masks out their and for less than the price.
Now that the cold weather is approaching here in New York it is wreaking havoc on my skin and I’ve noticed dry patches around my chin so adding a good moisturizer is crucial in my winter skincare routine. I really like this Adaptogen Deep Moisture Cream by Youth To The People because it quickly absorbs into the skin feeling lightweight making it comfortable to use at night and doesn’t clog my large pores and it could be the ashwaganda herbs calming effect that makes me feel relaxed at the end of the night like I’m pampering my self physically and mentally. I wake up the next morning with my face looking and feeling well hydrated. This moisturizer has become my skincare savior and I already feel the need to purchase another one before this one runs out! 😍

The Herbal Detoxifying Steam with Flowers + Cleansing Herbs is used to calm and nourish the skin and soul, read below as I share my experience using the product and how effective I find it to be thus far.
“This steam contains beautiful flowers and deeply purifying aromatic herbs to cleanse and nourish the skin while calming and soothing the soul. It opens pores, facilitates the release of impurities, and deeply cleanses while simultaneously nourishing and hydrating the skin. For best results, follow immediately with a clay mask.Directions: Bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Place 1-2 TBSP of the herbal blend in a large bowl. Pour steaming water over the herbs. The Apoterra Herbal Detoxifying Steam with Flowers + Cleansing Herbs has become an essential product for my relaxing “home spa” once a week and any time I feel in need of a little pick me up. I received the product in the mail 2 days before an event that had me feeling uneasy and stressed (perfect timing) so I decided it would be a perfect opportunity to give the herbal steam a try.
As I am typing this review I find it a bit difficult to put into words my overall experience with this product as it is one of those you have to try it for yourself to understand the pleasant outcome of using this herbal steam bath, In my best attempt to describe the Herbal Detoxifying Steam with Flowers + Cleansing Herbs it is like a sauna for your face with organic herbs that help relax your mind, opening clogged pores and also great during the winter season when you need help with decongestion. Though it was quite easy to rate this product a 5 out of 5 My two main reasons were quite simple: it is effective and has a multi- purpose use, it can be used as a facial steam, used in a relaxing bath soak and even mixed with a clay mask.
As I briefly mentioned I had an event coming up that made me stressed and anxious and decided to try the herbal steam bath. This was my first time using the product and I truly felt relaxed as a weight was lifted off my shoulders, my skin felt soft and had a healthy glow and after using the product I was able to feel more at ease and concentrate which I found to be difficult prior to use.
Last week I had a migraine which had me in bed and wouldn’t subside, Rather than taking a generic aspirin I wanted to take a natural approach and decided to use the herbal steam and see if it worked, and it surly did help I was able to continue my day by running errands that I was putting off due to the strong migraine that made me feel like I couldn’t function. Now I’m not saying this Herbal detoxifying steam has “magical powers” because the proof is in the ingredients!
Heres a brief breakdown of some of the ingredients along with its benefits:

I highly recommend the product and over all product line. I also want to mention with the holidays approaching these will make great gift ideas for those who enjoy relaxation, effective skin care and all natural products. The product line has a great range for all skin types + concerns.
I love how affordable Color Icon Eyeshadows are by Wet N Wild. I had the old formula of “Walking On Egg Shells” when it was just a trio. Now reformulated as a quad Wet N Wild added a matte transition shade which blends well, it practically matches my skin tone.
This is my simple everyday eyeshadow quad for daytime looks. With the exception of the nude transition shade the other 3 (browbone, crease and eye lid shadows) are mostly shimmer. I love how they are labeled which adds a helpful guide to the consumer as to where to apply each color although you can use them however you’d like! I personally like to also use the shimmer shades for highlighting the bridge of my nose, and qupids bow.
Overall Rating: 4.9/5
Considering this is my second time purchasing I would say I am quite the fan and for $2.99 it’s got a great price point, the colors are great for creating a everyday look and easy to take when traveling, no need to pack a big eyeshadow palette. Other than being stoked on the price I also like how easy these apply and blend together.
I am not too sure if this specific eyeshadow quad will accommodate all skin tones however they do have 5 other quads with different shades.
Have you tried any Wet n Wild products? I would love to hear your recommendations!
At some point in time I was makeup obsessed, I had accumulated tons of makeup but now not so much. Partially since shopping cruelty free, tired of keeping up with the newest product or formulas and also a personal lack of interest for beauty products. Lately I’ve been more concerned with my skincare regimen (how did I age this quickly?!) Don’t get me wrong I have those days when I’m feeling optimistic and would like to reach for a bright colored eyeshadow or bold color lipstick but my current makeup collection is very minimal.Today I went through what I currently own and all the old products I chucked over the years into my makeup bag. I was surprised how much is expired and/or rarely used.
I do want to purchase some new makeup but I want to make sure what I buy follows my three basic shopping guidelines:
Do I already own a product like this? If so, What makes this one different?
How often will I use it?
Is it cruelty-free?
Do you buy makeup often? Have you downsized your makeup collection? I’d love to read your comments!!
Travel Size Liquid Lip Set in 4 shades by Bite Beauty
“This innovative lipstick takes liquid lip to the next level. With indulgently creamy wear, high-pigment color, and a satiny finish, each Liquified Lip glides on with unprecedented precision for a perfectly polished look.”
Size (travel size)
Overall Rating 4.8
I knew the Bite Amuse Bouche Liquid Set would be travel size but they are mini! About the length of my pinky in comparison. But these mini liquid lipstick pack a punch when it comes to color. You get two nude tones and red bold tones. Brased and Flambé may look similar in the swatched photo however they are far from the same, in person flambe is more of a bright red-orange (the Sephora website describes it as vivid poppy) and brased (the Sephora website describes it as deep scarlet) is a darker cranberry red. Whip is a nude beige and Demi-Glacé is like a muted chocolate brown. You can easily mix the colors for a custom shade.
I love the colors but I do find myself wearing Whip quite often however flambe and braised will go well with upcoming holiday looks or for the classic red lip. The shades vary from skin tone, my mother who has a olive tone complextion tried Demi-glacé and it appeared much darker. The quality is substantial so no dry lips here! The creamy consistency glides on for a smooth application to the nice subtle pleasent scent and doesn’t feather around my lip line I also want to comment on the sleek minimalistic rectangular lipstick tube design, a favorite of mine. I would invest in buying the full size which offers more of shade range. As for the travel size aspect I would only purchase as a add-on gift for someone who already loves makeup, or as a introduction to the Bite Beauty brand.
