I meant to post this last month and since it’s already February I knew it was due to post.
If you read my last blog post I briefly mentioned I had a few things planned, one of them was hiking and although the weather wasn’t the best I didn’t let it hinder my birthday plans.
I won’t lie I was worried because while I’ve hiked in the spring, summer and fall I never hiked in the winter and wasn’t sure I was equipped with the right snow boots (I wore my Dr. Martens) but I should invest in some snow boots!
I thought well if I can barely walk through the snow or I slip and fall on my ass we’ll just call it a day, at least we can say we tried 🤷🏻♀️ and although I almost face planted once and occasionally walked in the snow like a baby deer (or those models with super high heels walking down the run way) I managed to hike it through to the scenic waterfall and it was beautiful. My curious conscious wanted to go closer but I’ve seen too many lifetime movies and fail videos to do that!
It was really breath-taking and being that it was our first time at this part of the state park we were enthusiastic we discovered a new place to hike with such a beautiful view. All I can say is that was a great way to spend my birthday and I’m glad I got to see it and spend that day with Marcin. ❤️
My local Japanese cafe Brooklyn Ball Factory makes Matcha Latte and its’ the damn best Matcha Latte I’ve come across, its perfectly sweetened and always made to perfection every time. I ordered matcha latte from other cafes and no one makes it the way they do.
I’ve had the typical cafe muffin but I recently noticed this pancake wrap treat called Dorayaki. Dorayaki is a red-bean pancake which consists of two small pancake-like patties filled with sweet Azuki red bean paste and different flavored fillings.
It’s mildly sweet I would compare the pancake taste to a crape but obviously made differently. The matcha flavored Dorayaki goes great with morning coffee or with matcha latte (my personal favorite).
Have you ever tried Dorayaki?
Unfortunately my fiancé is working on valentine’s day but he surprised me with a reservation to a local vegan restaurant Modern Love. Every time we drove past it I made subtle hints about wanting to dine there some day. Well I’m happy to say today was the day he made it happen. ❤️
When am I not on my mobile devices 🙄
We don’t really dine out often, as much as we used to compared to when we started dating (mostly because of personal preference) but it was nice to try something new and have a date night while catching up on other things other than our home life.
The weather is getting warmer in New York so obviously cold beverages and other cold indulgences are the way to go. It wasn’t until some time ago last year standing in line at my local cafe wanting to disperse from my usual mocha latte my curiosity introduced me to a Matcha Latte, and I’ve been liking it every since.
Matcha is packed with antioxidants, and what does antioxidants do? They help prevent aging, fight against infections and chronic diseases. So why not get this power house packed in any foods/beverages I consume.
Japanese Matcha Slushy (almond milk) from Vivi Bubble Tea
Vegan Matcha Tea Ice Cream from Van Leeuwen
Matcha Latte from Brooklyn Ball Factory
Well it’s raining here in New York as much as I wanted to start my day with a morning run and stop at my local coffee shop I opted for indoor activities such as my morning yoga routine followed by some cardio and then showered and pampered myself all in the comfort of my own home [apartment]
I started with the Apottera Herbal Detoxifying Facial Steam which you can read my full review here
Relaxing it was indeed! I love using the herbal steam facial when I am in need of a “pick me up”, congested or bad breakouts. The Herbal steam bath was followed by the Aztec Secret Healing Bentonite Clay which also helps rid the body of toxins, impurities, heavy metals and chemicals. [I’ll have a full blog review up next week]
Now I’m going to drink my Pukka Detox Tea and watch some Netflix😃
What is your favorite rainy day activity or favorite detox?
I hope everyone enjoyed the holidays, Only three days into The New Year and I’m feeling good vibes. May this year bring happiness, success and love to you all!
Reflecting back on Last Year I have chosen to be more adventourous and broden my perspective, What are some things you would like to accomplish in 2016?
Hi everyone! I am happy to announce I made my first ever youtube video which is a brief intro to myself and my blog, I hope you watch and subscribe. Thank you for all the support I have received and I hope you will continue to join me on my cruelty free journey! 🙂
