Can be irritating
If I reviewed the Ole Henriksen Invigorating Night Serum 2 years ago one would assume I was a promoter for the brand because at the time I used it I could only speak highly of the outstanding performance from less blemishes and most importantly clearing up my acne. However it seems over time the packaging and formula got a face lift of its own, this once called gel is now considered a “serum”and the glass jar changed to a glass bottle with a pump dispenser. The Ole Henriksen Invigorating Night Treatment consist of AHA complex (alpha hydroxy acids) which helps with cell turnover to revive skin and diminish lines and wrinkles. Most skincare products contain 10% which is less potent and less irritating than AHA complex with higher concentration of 20-30% used by certified cosmetologist, though the higher percent of AHAs can be more effective it can also be very irritating to certain individuals. You will also find The Ole Henriksen Invigorating Night Treatment has Algae extract which contain antioxidants. I decided to incorporate the invigorating night serum into my skincare routine but it just isn’t as potent as it once was, I’m 2 weeks and 5 days into using the product and seen minimal results. (Most skincare products takes 3-6 weeks to see results so theres still time) I have oily/sensitive skin, enlarged pores and blemishes around my cheeks and jaw line, a few blemishes have diminished but I still have a good amount of stubborn blemishes that just won’t fade away. My face feels taut soon after I apply the treatment which I’m not complaining! And it delivers a slight glow. I notice the days I skip the treatmeant my face looks dull. The gel texture can be displeasing considering it gets tacky the more I worked it into my skin but I use it at night so I don’t mind wearing it as I’ll be in a deep slumber for 8hrs so the texture of the night treatment might be bothersome for some people. I gave this treatment a fair 3.5 as I think it’s a hit or miss, you either love it or you don’t, it either works for you or it doesn’t. I will continue to use the Ole Henriksen Invigorating Night Treatment and if I notice any changes I will post back on this post with an update.
Have you used the Invigorating Night Treatment or any products by Ole Henriksen?
Hi everyone! I am happy to announce I made my first ever youtube video which is a brief intro to myself and my blog, I hope you watch and subscribe. Thank you for all the support I have received and I hope you will continue to join me on my cruelty free journey! 🙂
“This deeply hydrating, never-cakey, buildable, color-correcting concealer forgives all skin sins—dark circles, blemishes, and uneven pigment—without masking your face. Creamy, blendable, and luminous, it comes with a self-sharpening, twist-up tip so you’ll always be on-point.”
I really love this concealer, It’s also perfect for summer when you need full coverage but dont want the feel of caked on makeup. I have vitiligo under my eyes and find that this product conceals it pretty well without looking cakey or causing dryness under my eye.

Mostly contains natural* ingredients
Slight minty taste
Good for sensitivity
Not much of a whitening effect
Overall Rating 4/5
I mostly brought this toothpaste after learning that Tom’s of maine are owned by colgate, I also wanted to pick something with a whitening effect to improve my teeth after drinking tea majority of the winter, I haven’t noticed much difference but when it comes to the actual cleansiness for oral hygiene I find this toothpaste to be pretty good, its foamy enough and my teeth feel more cleaner and has a suttle minty after taste. The only thing that throws me off about this toothpaste is that it contains Fluroide which is inorganic and can be a danger to overall health. I was hopeing to find a product that only contained all natural ingredients.
“This foundation provides an all-day radiant finish that nourishes and protects with anti-aging benefits. The buildable formula can provide medium to full coverage and offers SPF 30, full UV protection, and all-day wear.Provides optimum coverage of skin imperfections such as acne, redness, melasma, under eye circles, uneven skin tones, post-surgical bruising, vitiligo, and tattoos and protection from wind, sun and pollution. This clinically tested product does not contain the Inflammatory Five: gluten, mineral oil, fragrance, parabens or talc.”
I realized I have a love/hate relationship with this product, while I do think its great for covering up imperfections and vitiligo (I have around my eyes) I am very dissapointed in the small amount of product for the price, for $2 EXTRA bucks you can buy the custom drops which will last you much longer however I have my quandaries about that product as well keep up to date with my website for that review. My suggestion is if you do plan to use it, try and only concentrate on covering areas like under the eye, blemishes or to highlight to give this product good longivity but as far as using it daily for a full face it probably wont last more than half the month! So I’m more reserved about the price/quantity of the product rather than the actual performance of it which is why I gave it a decent rating.
As you may already know some Cruelty-Free companies are owned by Parent Companies and majority of the time they own other companies who do in fact test on animals. While a company can still remain cruelty free this may not be evident enough for a consumer as she/he may feel portion of the sale is endorsing the parent company which test other products on animals.
Please feel free to share your thoughts, We all have our own opinions so I will state that how a consumer chooses to shop is soley based on her/his decision.
Makeup lovers rejoice! I’m probably just as excited about the news than anyone else, I’ve been a fan of the K.V.D makeup line for some years back and since shopping cruelty free the Kat Von D line has been a grey area so I decided to avoid purchasing anything all together, but now my conscious can rest easy and I’m ready to splurge! Now to finally get my hands on the new Shade+Light contour palette… 🙂
From my past Kat Von D Beauty purchases all the products i’ve used have been great quality, full coverage and highly pigmented cosmetics.
The Kat Von D beauty brand which is owned by Kendo has announced that they do not conduct any animal testing nor have they worked with suppliers and third parties who conduct such cruelty, and they will not be partaking where animal testing is required by law.
While the company is not 100% vegan as some products contain animal derived ingredients there are a few vegan options. To view more information visit Logical Harmony to read the full article and list of vegan options.
