Two Cute

Hi There! I just wanted to hop on here real quick to share the cuteness overload and get back to spending sunday with my family Upstate.

These two are practically inseparable!

My parents dog is 7 month old Rooster and on the right is our 6 Year old girl Mila. When my parents first brought home Rooster I was worried Mila wouldn’t take well to another dog in the house because for quite some time she was the only one and didn’t shy away from all the attention but she’s a sweetheart and very welcoming, In fact she loves to be greeted by Rooster when we walk into the door, I think she’s more excited about seeing him then anyone one else and he is the same way. It’s adorable to see these two together but don’t let the cuteness fool you because they do get into some mischief from time to time! 😂

California Passes Petshop Law

It was only 4 days ago I posted about Gucci banning the use of fur from their apparel line, and now the state of California has passed a law that requires all pet stores to sell only shelter and rescue animals, this will hopefully put an end to mass breeding, although the law won’t actually take effect until 2019.

I personally encourage everyone to adopt from shelters/rescue centers I think people have this misconception that the majority of the animals in shelters are “old, sick or vicious”. And as for families who are specifically looking for puppies let it be known, shelters DO have puppies but because they are in high demand they are usually the first to get adopted. We adopted Mila who was 3 at the time (she’s now 4) and not only does she still have the energetic vibe and playfulness of a puppy she was already house broken (no potty training here) and gets along with other animals. Many people surrender their animals for various reasons and I try not to prejudge her previous owner but in all honesty I can’t help but think “why would anyone give you away?!” she’s healthy, never aggressive, loyal and loving and just an overall great companion,  and right now there are plenty more animals in shelters waiting to find a home, family and a best friend that can give them the love they truly deserve.

National Dog Day

A day before national dog day I had to let my beloved Milo rest his final rest and it was one of the saddest days of my life as I lost my companion, my best friend and fur baby. He was my signification of hope, those who truly love animals can surely relate. I recently posted a image of Mila (we changed her name upon adoption) pretty much mentioning how I truly feel Milo sent her in my path. She is a new chapter to a sad story. Days go by and while I feel it’s a slow healing process I am grateful to both Milo and Mila as they both brought happiness to my life.

Winter Warning

I’m sure I mentioned this on my Instagram  last winter but it never gets old to spread the word on animal safety, we’re all aware of the dangers leaving animals in hot cars but leaving pets outside for long periods of time in the winter also poses a threat to your beloved pets. Animals can develop hypothermia, frost bite and even death depending on there coat, body fat, and overall health being that some animals have difficultly regulating their body temperature. Also be aware when walking your dog that they don’t come into contact with antifreeze or other toxic chemicals. So to put it simply, Don’t be neglectful! Provide warm shelter for your pet and if you witness an animal that has been neglected and left out in the cold call your local animal control or county sheriffs office.
