Plant Lady

Marcin and I had some much needed family time and a great opportunity to travel out of the city. Unfortunately the weather was not on our side so much of our time was spent indoors. I feel like the constant change in weather has made me a bit sick so I’m currently cuddled on the couch in my comfiest pjammies brewing some tea and cursing out my weak immune system. Just last week I pulled a muscle in my foot which still hasn’t healed, causing me to waddle like a penguin 😒 So as I’m sitting here I remembered we brought potting soil for some plants that were starting to look frail and while I watered them as they needed it didn’t seem to perk them up so today I took the time to add some fresh soil hoping they will revive. I had the Golden Pothos for a year already, the Snake Plant (sansevieria) I brought towards the end of last summer and Haworthia succulent plant I had for 2 years (I think). I am hoping these plants continue to live so I can add more to the plant family!

Aloe Baby

Before I talk about the benefits of Aloe Vera I just wanted to give you a short back story on my little baby Aloe Vera plant which I purchased at IKEA in June and gratefully it’s been holding up pretty well considering majority of my succulent plants have had a short life span. Every time I glimpse at my Aloe Vera plant I wonder “what beauty benefits does Aloe Vera have?” I mean instantly I knew it is used to ease sunburned skin and to heal wounds but other than that I didn’t know much about this plant that I look at and care for pretty much everyday. So I decided to do alittle research and browsed YouTube and here is what I found:

-It Mosturizes the skin with antioxidants like vitamin C & E helps keep skin hydrated and firmness
-Treats acne by stimulating new cell growth, help reduce scarring and it’s anti-inflammatory benefit helps with those occasional large painful pimples.
-Can heal serious skin conditions like Psoriasis and Eczema.
-It can reduce the appearance of recent stretch marks.

Below I posted two YouTube videos showing some informative usage of Aloe Vera:
