I recently purchased The Youth Minis Kit since I wanted to try other products in the Youth To The People product line and they don’t disappoint!
To read my previous YTTP post click here.
I am familiar with the Super Food Cleanser, and Adaptogen Moisture Cream (my two personal faves)
The Maqui+Acai Facial Oil absorbs into my skin effortlessly which is one main component when it comes to picking a facial oil.
Superfood Air-Whip moisturizer is a light weight moisturizer and hydrates my skin pretty well before makeup application.
The Super Berry Hydrate + Glow Dream Mask works as an overnight treatment with more hydration giving that “morning glow” appearance the next morning. They all have a distinctive “YTTP” fragrance it’s rather clean and pleasant without being too strong or irritating.
The minis kit is great for young adults, or anyone interested in trying the YTTP product line without splurging on full size since it can be a bit pricey. Also use sparingly as alittle goes a long way. The minis are also travel friendly and all of the products work effortlessly in conjunction with one another so you can custom create your own skincare routine like a mock-tail for your skin!
The new Kat Von D True Portrait Foundation can best be describe as Light as a feather, truly it is! I used to be a die hard full coverage foundation fan but as my skin is maturing I find most full-coverage formulas uncomfortably sit on my face, back then I layered on my foundation like I was putting butter on toast! So the older I get the more breathable and light weight I like my makeup to feel and that’s exactly what I found when I purchased this foundation.
Just the other day after a grocery run I ended up taking a nap and comfortably slept forgetting I had the True Portrait foundation on! so I say it’s cat-nap approved (haha)
The formula is oily upon applying it however it is buildable and dries down to a powder finish, I usually get my desired consistency after two layers without getting caked. While you can let it set on it’s own as is you can also finish it off with a pressed powder (for a fuller finish) or a loose setting powder.
I went for a soft-neutral look with my makeup using the True Portrait Foundation, KVD Tattoo Liner, and Colourpop eyeshadows in ‘wattles’ and ‘wake up call’
My first Youth To The People purchase was the Kale+Green Tea Vitamins cleanser, it’s a gentle cleanser and works pretty well for my sensitive/combination skin. I wish I could splurge and buy everything from the Youth To The People line!
I was in need of a new moisturizer and purchased the Adaptogen Deep Moisture Cream and I love it! It’s great for my sensitive skin (no post breakouts) and I find it to be hydrating without making me oily, it seeps into the skin perfectly. Because it’s light weight its great for a nighttime skincare routine because no one likes that heavy feeling after you’ve layered on all your night time products. I also want to mention this moisturizer will be a savior and must have for the winter season!
Btw YTTP is vegan and cruelty free and packs all their products in glass containers which can be repurposed or recycled I’m actually going to use the cleanser bottle as a hand soap dispenser once I’m done using it!
Now that the cold weather is approaching here in New York it is wreaking havoc on my skin and I’ve noticed dry patches around my chin so adding a good moisturizer is crucial in my winter skincare routine. I really like this Adaptogen Deep Moisture Cream by Youth To The People because it quickly absorbs into the skin feeling lightweight making it comfortable to use at night and doesn’t clog my large pores and it could be the ashwaganda herbs calming effect that makes me feel relaxed at the end of the night like I’m pampering my self physically and mentally. I wake up the next morning with my face looking and feeling well hydrated. This moisturizer has become my skincare savior and I already feel the need to purchase another one before this one runs out! 😍
At some point in time I was makeup obsessed, I had accumulated tons of makeup but now not so much. Partially since shopping cruelty free, tired of keeping up with the newest product or formulas and also a personal lack of interest for beauty products. Lately I’ve been more concerned with my skincare regimen (how did I age this quickly?!) Don’t get me wrong I have those days when I’m feeling optimistic and would like to reach for a bright colored eyeshadow or bold color lipstick but my current makeup collection is very minimal.Today I went through what I currently own and all the old products I chucked over the years into my makeup bag. I was surprised how much is expired and/or rarely used.
I do want to purchase some new makeup but I want to make sure what I buy follows my three basic shopping guidelines:
Do I already own a product like this? If so, What makes this one different?
How often will I use it?
Is it cruelty-free?
Do you buy makeup often? Have you downsized your makeup collection? I’d love to read your comments!!

Travel Size Liquid Lip Set in 4 shades by Bite Beauty
“This innovative lipstick takes liquid lip to the next level. With indulgently creamy wear, high-pigment color, and a satiny finish, each Liquified Lip glides on with unprecedented precision for a perfectly polished look.”
Size (travel size)
Overall Rating 4.8
I knew the Bite Amuse Bouche Liquid Set would be travel size but they are mini! About the length of my pinky in comparison. But these mini liquid lipstick pack a punch when it comes to color. You get two nude tones and red bold tones. Brased and Flambé may look similar in the swatched photo however they are far from the same, in person flambe is more of a bright red-orange (the Sephora website describes it as vivid poppy) and brased (the Sephora website describes it as deep scarlet) is a darker cranberry red. Whip is a nude beige and Demi-Glacé is like a muted chocolate brown. You can easily mix the colors for a custom shade.
I love the colors but I do find myself wearing Whip quite often however flambe and braised will go well with upcoming holiday looks or for the classic red lip. The shades vary from skin tone, my mother who has a olive tone complextion tried Demi-glacé and it appeared much darker. The quality is substantial so no dry lips here! The creamy consistency glides on for a smooth application to the nice subtle pleasent scent and doesn’t feather around my lip line I also want to comment on the sleek minimalistic rectangular lipstick tube design, a favorite of mine. I would invest in buying the full size which offers more of shade range. As for the travel size aspect I would only purchase as a add-on gift for someone who already loves makeup, or as a introduction to the Bite Beauty brand.

Overall Rating 5/5
I use bronzer all year round, and this is one brand worth checking out. From the packaging to the esthetically beautiful marbled bronzer this product just screams lux! The Ambient Light Bronzer offers the versatility to contour and bronze and easily play up how much or subtle you want it to be. It offers a healthy glow meaning you won’t look over done. The Hourglass brand also went a step forward beyond the luxury look to also remove common toxic ingredients,So you wont see the use of Talc which is often a concern for consumers as talc can be contaminated and toxic to our health. I am however little taken back by the price of $50 ( I normally would never buy a $50 bronzer) but Sephora and the Hourglass website offers travel-size with a price point of $25, which I was at first glance disappointed for the amount of product and I thought “is quality better than quantity?” and in this case, I would say so. Overall I am pleased with the product, and Hourglass’s luxury sleek designs are one you want to showcase on your makeup vanity.
The past two months I have been reaching for these three products time and time again:
Tarte Tarteist Mascara-
I love it, it doesn’t flake or give me raccoon eyes at the end of the day and it adds a good amount of volume to my lashes making them look fuller.
Hourglass Luminous Bronze Light-
A highlight and bronzer in one which gives my skin that supple glow while still giving that bronzed definition to my cheeks.
Milani Prime Shield-
It’s winter time and my face has been flakey so a primer is a must for me and this one has been doing well for me with no breakouts.

Works well on my sensitive skin
Creases around deep wrinkles
Overall Rating 4.2/5
I tried holding off on writing a final review of the Kat Von D Lock-It Concealer because while I wanted to like this product I did have a few quarrels, maybe I purchased the wrong color but here is my first impression review. I used L15 which is slightly lighter than I’d hope although it seems to be the closest match to my skintone. Because I had chosen the “L15” I noticed my dark circles weren’t fully concealed I still think it’s full coverage in the sense that it buildable but I try not to apply to many coats especially under my eyes when I am going to be outdoors, had I slapped on a few extra layers and even baked with a powder it might’ve concealed to perfection. I also think the reason the concealer didn’t do much for my dark circles is possibly error on my part from mismatching (perhaps I could’ve went with a darker shade) I noticed fairly quickly the concealer started to crease in my under eye wrinkles making them more visible or prominent. The product wear is pretty long lasting which I do like, it’s very easy to blend with my finger, makeup brush or beauty blender and it doesn’t smudge but I wonder if I had chosen a different shade if I would’ve had better coverage. I don’t think this is the worst concealer I do like it I just have to try different layering methods, maybe use a powder to set under the eyes. I used it to highlight my face and conceal a few blemishes which really did a great job.
So I exchanged the “L15” to “M17” and I still could not get it to cover my dark circles and it still creased in my fine lines. I think it works great for concealing blemishes, and even on the lid as a smooth base for the eyelids but for someone with dark circles and under eye vitiligo it did not deliver for me, I have used it as a spot treatment for pimples and blemishes and found that it worked well for that, but as a concealer the search continues…
