As you might already know from my previous food posts I’m not very handy in the kitchen. I try to recreate dishes based on recipes I find online because if I ever tried to invent a homemade dish it might turn into food poisoning and no one wants that! 🙂 This recipe is very easy and great for a quick lunch or side dish.
Here is the recipe for the Corn,Avocado and Cilantro I found featured on the Yummly app (Available on iPhone,iPad and web)
Now I should forewarn you this dish has a tangy taste, which I like. If you include avocados make sure they are ripe! I bought avocados for this dish the day I found the recipe but was unable to make it due to an unripe avocado. If you try it or modify it please comment with your feedback.
With the fluctuating weather we’ve been having in New York and currently getting over a cold which I kindly passed down to my fiancé 🙂 (I’m sorry!) I decided to try out a Pumpkin Soup Recipe I found on the Yummly app (Avaliable on iPhone,iPad and web)
Yummly app is my cooking bible! It has TONS of recipes from appetizers, breakfast, main course meals, desserts, drinks…you name it they have it!! Recipes also include image of the desired dish, preperation time, list of ingredients, calories and step by step instructions.
I read through the “instructions” a couple times just to make sure I knew what the heck I was doing and surprisingly it was a lot easier than I thought! As for taste, it was a very smooth purée consistency or as my fiancé said “it’s like eating baby food” with alittle spice which gave it a little “kick” (I don’t know of any cool culinary lingo so give me a break) overall I was pleased with the outcome considering it was my first attempt making it. I will say that it’s probably most enjoyable and appreciative during the winter season.
